![]() ![]() The last PC I built before my current one (built in 2021) was in 2015. I spend good money on my PC, but I could never buy a console just to play something a year earlier, even 2 years earlier. I'd never spend that kind of money just for a game. Hell, many (not just here) will literally buy a console to play it at launch if it's console exclusive initially. Nearly everybody visiting this forum even semi-regularly will instantly pre-order the game the very moment it goes live. I just see too many people with low to no standards and these companies taking our monies and running with them them. I dunno, maybe I'm getting older and the gaming is just fewer and farther in between now so I expect more when I do find a game to play that I have previously enjoyed. But I do see the value in pre-loading and such, I'm just not akin to wasting my money on stuff I throw away. That's the real reason I wait for sales and don't pre-order. I've had multiple games where the first couple hours are just tweaking settings and basic "walkthroughs" or majority of pause menus trying to figure the game out. Bought into the hype and disappointed on the first day. So you get 3-6 hours in and realize, nope, not for me - but that's past the point of no return because it's digital so you are stuck. It's not like a physical copy where you can just resell it for $5 cheaper or something, and most games require a decent amount of playing to actually experience it yourself. But you are saying you just value the pre-loading overall? What bothers me is the "refund" policies. There are many reasons not to do that and why I am asking. It's whether or not we have faith in the release and the value of pre-ordering that is in question. Im not talking about "buying" the game either, I think the majority of us on this forum are going to buy it at some point. I guess maybe if your internet it terrible and you want something to DL the majority days in advance, but even then it's going to still need to finalize before you play it. I mean, preloading doesn't really equate to much. I'd buy it even if it sucked dick, so really no reason not to. We can discuss the issues in the comments but the poll I'd like to show whether or not gamers still have faith in the system of pre-orders, or if you care at all. Yes, GTA has been in development for a long time to avoid this, and hopefully does, but will you trust Rockstar and pre-order or be patient and wait regardless of the reason? ![]() I consider myself a part of the "patient gamers" crowd, where I usually wait for a sale, but these types of games rarely drop much within the first couple years of release, so I am more concerned about the issues we see on the market now where games are just being released as hot messes. There are tons of reasons this happens, especially on PC. The reason I am asking is because how crazy underdeveloped games have been in recent years and early purchasers basically being full price beta testers. I've kept the choices to a minimum to keep the results simple. It would be nice to have them release console and PC versions at the same time - but we all have a healthy amount of skepticism towards the possibility of that happening. I refuse to pre-order anything, especially being a PC player, but at least with GTA it was never as bad as it's been in more recent years across the board. When given the option, will you be pre-ordering? ![]()
